WHAT IS DATABASIC?
DataBasic is a suite of easy-to-use web tools for beginners that introduce concepts of working with data. These simple tools make it easy to work with data in fun ways, so you can learn how to find great stories to tell.
WordCounter analyzes your text and tells you the most common words and phrases.
WTFcsv provides characterizes each column's data type and contents so that you can ask more questions.
SameDiff compares two or more text files and tells you how similar or different they are.
ConnectTheDots shows you how your data is connected by analyzing it as a network.
WHAT I DID
I helped facilitate the entire design process for the new tool Connect The Dots (UX, wireframes, and mockups) and a fresh update for the Databasic homepage. Also led communication design for Databasic, providing video production for all the Databasic intro videos, photos, and activity guides.
This was the first project which needed to have in-site support for multiple languages. I hired a translator and managed the integration with my engineer for Portuguese and Spanish language support.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Led creative production of all tool videos, product overview video, activity guides, and language accessibility implementation
- Created wireframes and product dev. timeline for newest tool “connect the dots”
- Led UX design and wireframe construction for new homepage redesign
- Did extensive QA on new tool and site design across platforms
- Helped organize workshops and outreach events with users.
